AMERICAN LEGION POST 53 "QUEEN OF HEARTS"
(HOW THE GAME IS PLAYED)
The "Queen of Hearts" is an interesting game played with 54 cards (52 regular playing cards with 2 jokers). A new deck of cards is opened and spread face up on a table so that everyone can see that it is a full deck of 52 playing cards with 2 jokers. The cards are then placed and sealed in envelopes so that the cards are hidden from view. After all cards are placed in sealed envelopes they are then shuffled so that no one knows where the "Queen of Hearts" is hidden in the sealed envelopes. The cards are then numbered from 1 to 54 and placed in a locked case to prevent tampering. Numbered tickets to play the game are sold whenever the Post is open and there is no limit to the number of tickets that one can purchase. A drawing of a winning ticket is drawn from all the tickets sold each week and the drawing takes place during the break of "Quarters Up Bingo" between the first and second sessions. The winner of the ticket drawn gets to choose a numbered card from the locked case in which all of the cards are secured. There is a winner in every game. Each playing card has a money value assigned to it depending on whether it is a numbered card, a face card, an ace, joker or the "Queen of Hearts" the card that wins the amount in the jackpot. The "Queen of Hearts" is a progressive game which means that a portion of the funds from ticket sales is added to the jackpot every week until the "Queen of Hearts" is drawn. Then the process starts over with a beginning jackpot established by Post 53. Rules are provided at the drawing. Non-Members must sign in on our guest register to be eligible to win. THE JACKPOT IS CURRENTLY AT $??????? COME PLAY AND SEE. |
